Note: This tutorial assumes you have opened this page when the webcast is actually happening - in this case, September 4 to 11.

If you have QuickTime enabled by your browser
the webcast should play in about 30 seconds.
Otherwise click on the graphic
and you will open the stream from a website.
We have enabled HTTP streaming on our dedicated server.

Our experience is that RTSP streaming
which takes you direct to the server is more reliable.
But RTSP is often blocked by firewalls.
So we have provided the HTTP option.

Normally QuickTime will switch transports
(from RTSP - real time streaming protocol
to HTTP - hypertext transport protocol) automatically.

But you can in advanced preferences
choose a custom setting
such as HTTP streaming.

It will give you faster access to the webcast.

If you have installed QuickTime
but your browser won't recognize the software
and you have a firewall blocking RTSP
you can try opening QuickTime or Videolan
as a stand alone player and File/Open Url:

rtsp://199.60.118.10/tilting.sdp

RTSP is usually port 554 or 7070
and often blocked by institutions.
HTTP is port 80 and has to be open
to receive website information.
