Sonja is now crossing Quebec enroute to Ottawa to meet with Dominic LeBlanc, DFO minister Wilkinson
and Justin Trudeau in an effort to raise their awareness of environmental malpractice in
Nova Scotia and the necessity of protecting endangered species, especially the Atlantic Salmon.

This letter requested Dominic LeBlanc meet with DFO minister Wilkinson and Justin Trudeau to explain
how the Peticodiac River was restored in an effort to repair the environmental degradation caused by
its causeway/dam.

This government must recognize our concern for our environment.

Attn: The Honorable Minister, Dominic LeBlanc From: ORWASFA Organizer, Sonja E. Wood On a Roll for the Wild Atlantic Salmon and the Fisheries Act

Dear Minister LeBlanc,

I want to keep this short - I'm sure you are a very busy person.

On September 4th, my husband and I left Windsor (Nova Scotia) on a pilgrimage to Ottawa to raise awareness
for Atlantic salmon protection, (with raised expectations thanks to the newly-strengthened revisions of The Fisheries Act).
I am a paraplegic and am driving a mobility scooter, I've now traveled over 1080 kms. and have visited many salmon-productive rivers:
meeting with conservation groups, meeting with members from the First Nations, meeting with people of the communities, the press and local
radio stations, and a small cadre of incumbent Liberal MPs along the way (I tried to meet with you while traveling through Shediac, it wasn't doable).
We would concur the fix on the Petitcodiac River was a smart move for salmon recovery. We want to be properly heard in Ottawa, we want our request
for free tidal flow honored and we want to have the Fisheries Act laws employed so we can fully protect our Wild Atlantic Salmon in all of Atlantic Canada.

I am asking you to stop this pilgrimage before, like the oncoming tide, we inexorably roll through Quebec and into Ottawa, basically shaming government
as we go, by granting me just one wish. I am asking you to please set up and participate in a meeting with the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau and DFO Minister,
Jonathan Wilkinson. as our supportive MP to protect our endangered Atlantic Salmon.

The Avon River and it's Wild Atlantic Salmon are in serious distress. There is a twinning project proposed on the causeway section of Nova Scotia Hwy 101,
and our provincial departments want to build yet another aboiteau. Your decision to fix the Petitcodiac River (NB) is the exact fix the Avon River deserves,
especially for salmon recovery. Your help could make a crucial difference.

In advance, thank you. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely yours,
Sonja E. Wood
